After a bone fracture has healed, it’s important to regain the strength, mobility and range of motion you had before the injury. That’s why many patients receive a visit from a physical therapist while still in the hospital, and why many health care providers recommend that their patients receive physical therapy after they return home.
Our physical therapist at Nevada Rehabilitation Centers works with our clients’ doctors to become part of your recovery team. The one-on-one expertise and attention we deliver at our clean, state-of-the-art facility will have a huge impact on getting you back to the activities you enjoyed before your injury and the immobilization that followed.
In consultation with your doctor, we’ll begin our process with a detailed evaluation and assessment to help us arrive at a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. If pain and swelling are present, we may include treatments like electrical stimulation, ultrasound and massage to provide relief and promote improved muscle function.
Depending on your mobility and weight-bearing capabilities, a regime of strictly monitored exercises may be prescribed to improve strength and range of motion in the area or joint where the fracture occurred, such as an arm, leg, elbow, wrist, hip, knee or ankle. Clients who are recovering from a leg fracture may need help deciding which assistive device is best for them, such as a cane, crutches or walker.
The attentive, hands-on treatment you’ll receive will ensure your exercise program proceeds at the right pace, with adjustments made as needed. The care of our clients is of the utmost importance, and our friendly staff delivers a supportive and comfortable experience from the moment a client joins us for the first time, until our final session.
Our physical therapist at Nevada Rehabilitation Centers can make an immense difference in how quickly and completely you recover from a fracture. Take your first step toward recovery by contacting us today to schedule an evaluation.
